Did You Know?

Formed in 1840, Summit County was named for being the highest point along the Ohio & Erie Canal. The county seat, Akron, became world-famous as the “Rubber Capital of the World”, with companies like Goodyear, Firestone, and B.F. Goodrich establishing headquarters there. Akron also played a role in the aerospace and polymer industries.
