Established in 1818, Logan County was named for Chief Logan, a Mingo leader known for his eloquence and tragic history. The county became a center for railroad expansion and is home to Indian Lake, a major tourism and recreation destination. Bellefontaine, the county seat, has the oldest concrete street in America.
