Did You Know?

Formed in 1810, Fayette County was named after Marquis de Lafayette, the French general who aided the American Revolution. The county became known for its rich farmland and livestock production, particularly cattle and hog farming. Washington Court House, the county seat, was a key railroad stop in the 19th century.
