Did You Know?

Established in 1800, Fairfield County was named for its fertile farmland. Lancaster, the county seat, was settled by Pennsylvania Germans and became a center for glass production, notably with the Anchor Hocking Glass Company. The county played a role in early canal and railroad transportation, which boosted its economy.
