Founded in 1810, Coshocton Countyโs name comes from a Native American word meaning โunion of waters.โ The county was an early center for Ohioโs canal system, particularly with the Ohio and Erie Canal running through it. The region became known for publishing, including the famous Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum, and its history in the printing and newspaper industries.
