Clermont County

Did You Know?

Created in 1800, Clermont County is Ohio’s eighth-oldest county. It played an active role in the Underground Railroad, with abolitionists aiding those escaping slavery. The county was also home to Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th U.S. president and Civil War general. Its economy has long relied on agriculture, river trade, and later, suburban development due to its proximity to Cincinnati.
