Did You Know?

Formed in 1833, Carroll County was named after Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. It became a center for coal and clay mining, and later, oil and natural gas production. The county played a role in Ohio’s Civil War history, with volunteers joining the Union Army in significant numbers. Today, agriculture and tourism are key industries.
